Festival

Hi there!

For the best summer experience you only need a few things: sun, friends and music. For 2 years in a row now, I've been to this festival here in The Netherlands called Free Festival. The last edition took place on Sunday. Under the heat of the Dutch sun (very rare), my friends and I would dance and listen to some really good Dutch DJs!

As for my outfit, I decided to keep it simple and comfy. A couple of issues ago, Vogue Nederland, the Dutch edition of Vogue, came with a supercomfy t shirt that I can't stop wearing. My H&M shorts were just as comfy, and perfect for dancing and walking down the festival area. I finished my outfit wit my rosé watch, cause you have to watch the time if you don't want to miss seeing the DJ that you like, and my blue pair of Vans.

Back on the blog

Hi there!

It's been a while, but I'm back on the blog. A lot of things have been going on since my last post, with as a peak my highschool graduation! No more stress, no more tests or other things that could stop me from posting on the blog (apart from going on a holiday, but that's a nice reason).

Last Tuesday my graduation ceremony took place. At our school it's a tradition to dress up for this event; the  girls usually wear dresses and heels, and the boys wear their blazers. After spending ages looking for the perfect dress on the internet, I came to the conclusion that if I would order a dress, it wouldn't arrive on time for the graduation ceremony, so a panick attack hit me. Luckily, in the end I found a dress, which I bought at Mango. What better to represent my freedom from school than the birds on the dress ;)?

Mango, 'Dress with tropical print', €29,99,-

Take a Bow

After being hidden for a long time, the sun finally showed himself again here in Holland: the first signs of summer! Therefore, a post dedicated to something necessary in the summer, sandals. Since last summer, a pair of Ted Baker flipflops (number 3 in the picture below) has been on my mind. After doing some research on sandals, I came to the conclusion that a lot of designers included sandals with a bow on top in their collection for this summer. I can already imagine my legs bronzed, my toes polished with a cute colour and my feet walking on a pair of these sandals..

1. RED Valentino, 'Bow Jelly Sandals', €120,-
    Colours: yellow, red and blue,
2. Mulberry, 'Jelly Bow T-bar Sandal', €175,-
    Colour: black

3. Ted Baker, 'Polee Bow Flip Flop',

Dress to impress

Hi there!

So, last week I was caught up in intense debates. Not with my parents this time, about whether they would allow me to buy a new pair of ankle boots, no, I was debating about the actual problems the world is facing today in a Model United Nations conference. Model United Nations simply means pretending that you're an actual member of the United Nations and coming together with a bunch of students from all over the world to find solutions for, for example, food shortage. Sounds difficult and intellectual, doesn't it :)?

However, during these conferences it's also the time for us girls to show our knowledge about fashion, as it's the opportunity to get dressed in fancy attires! (And I love getting all dressed up). So let me show you some of the outfits I wore:

Day 1:
On day 1 I wore my blue River Island dress. Although it's from 2 years ago I guess it's still okay to wear (this summer you will definitely see lots of lace again!). All of my outfits were accompanied by a pair of Wolford stockings. Although it's quite an investment, these stockings are really worth it. Not only do they look fawless, but they also last a really long time.
Dress: River Island, I forgot the price

Day 2:

The day after, I was wearing this combination. The top is from Lofty Manners, a brand I had never heard of before I bought the top. I especially like the little golden details on the collar. The skirt is from last years collection of Zara, and is a perfect basic for an event on which you have to dress to impress! Although on the photo it seems like it's grey, it's actually black.
Top: Lofty Manners, €39,95,-
Skirt: Zara,
€39,95,-

Day 3:

The heels you see in this photo were one of my best bargains ever. These Madden Girl-pumps originally were 60, but I got mine for 15! Despite the fact that they look high and therefore really uncomfy, they're actually pretty good to walk on (for heels, nothing can beat a pair of vans of course). The skirt is from Pull&Bear and whenever I wear it I try to let the golden studs on the pockets match with my earrings and necklace. The blouse is, surprisingly, from Primark. Although I expected it to fall in pieces, explode, or whatever, because of the reputation Primark has, it has been in my closet for 3/4 year now.
Blouse: Primark, €11,-
Skirt: Pull&Bear,
€15,95,- (I believe)
Pumps: Madden Girl by Steve Madden,
€15,-

What do you think? Have you ever participated in an event like this, and what did you wear?

From the start

Hi there!

It is hard not to start my first post with a cliché, but I'll try. My name is Louise, I'm 17 years old, living in The Netherlands, and really good at procrastinating. In fact, I'm procrastinating right now (I should actually be reading books for French, English and Dutch literature, o well...). But on the other hand, this particular skill resulted into me making my blog.

About the blog: small kids, big dreams. When we were young we were all dreamers, we were innocent. The sky was the limit for us, the future wide open. As soon as we became older and more influenced by the world around us, we started to forget those dreams. Fairytales were replaced by reality. However, I believe that in every one of us there is still this small kid, full of dreams. Whether it is to create world peace, become a Pokémon trainer, own a Prada tote, sit front row at the New York Fashion Week, or to travel the world. My dream? I think I have multiple dreams, including the examples I just mentioned ;). I'll probably tell you about some of my dreams later on.

So, apart from dreams I think my blog will mainly be about fashion, style, beauty and life. Those are the things that really capture me. I can read fashion magazines for hours (yes, also during the time I have to study), and usually have a strong opinion about what's in the magazines. Today I decided I didn't want to keep these thoughts for myself anymore, and that's why I would like to share them with you.

I hope I convinced you to check out my blog another time and I'd love to hear your reactions!

Love, Louise

These are the totes from Prada I was talking about. Their model is timeless and you can match the bag with a lot of outfits (especially during summer time!). They come in so many cute colours, of which I think the light blue and the crème ones are my favourites. Too bad I cannot afford such a bag in any way..
